Lars Arendt-Nielsen won “Den Nordjyske Ledelsespris 2016” – an award for excellent leadership in North Denmark. The award is presented by UCN act2learn, Lederne Himmerland, Nordjyske Bank and Erhverv Norddanmark. More than 20 candidates were nominated for the award and then evaluated by the award committee.

Lars Arendt-Nielsen was celebrated on 8 November 2016 at Comwell Hvide Hus, Aalborg, surrounded by proud and cheerful staff members of SMI and Lars Hvilsted Rasmussen, Dean of The Faculty of Medicine, Aalborg University.

The staff of SMI nominated Lars for building up a unique working environment of which they are all very proud; not least when they travel the world as ambassadors of SMI. In the nomination they highlighted Lars’ ability to delegate assignments and responsibilities according to the staff members’ individual competencies and strengths in their work life.
