Assistant Professor Thorvaldur Palsson represented SMI in AAU's Science Slam Battle 2016. Thorvaldur's slam was based on pain research. How do we react to pain? How do people suffering from pain describe their pain? Toilet facilities at Nibe Festival and brain freeze came up as examples of this in Thorvaldur's slam.
Thorvaldur normally conducts and conveys his research from his laboratory at SMI and publishes papers in renowned academic journals. This Friday, however, he faced the challenge of conveying his knowledge to an audience of approx. 700 who showed up to learn more about the ongoing research at Aalborg University in an impressive, informative, and humorous way.
